Getting Rid of Bats with Light or Sound Machines
The idea behind light and sound machines for animal deterrence is simple. By creating light and sound where the animal resides, you make it harder for them to get comfortable and you make them feel unsafe, unwelcome.
With bats, it should make more sense. As nocturnal animals, they do not want to be out during the day. They want to stay somewhere dark, and light at all times is going to make it difficult for them. Sound can annoy them just as much, too.
It all sounds good, but do these machines actually work? If you have a bat problem in your attic, should you use these machines in an attempt to remove them?
The Reality of Light and Sound Machines
On paper, these machines seem great. You would think they would work, especially for a bat problem. That is not going to happen.
These machines do not deter or remove bats at any point. Yes, it makes their home somewhat more annoying, but they are not going to leave due to it. If they found a place where they can rest, somewhere safe and near everything they need, they have no reason to leave.
